General Mode

General Mode is the full workflow for trees, bushes, and larger plants. It works in two steps:

  1. Proxy Mesh Generation — Generate a smooth shell (the proxy mesh) around your foliage.
  2. Normal Transfer & AO Bake — Transfer the proxy's normals onto your foliage and optionally bake ambient occlusion.

Tree — before and after

Why Two Steps?

The proxy mesh is the heart of the technique. Instead of guessing at smooth normals, the tool builds an actual rounded volume that follows the silhouette of your plant, then samples that surface to produce the new normals. Generating the proxy first lets you preview and tune its shape before committing to a normal transfer.

Prerequisites

Make sure you've completed First Steps and left Grass Mode unchecked. If your model has separate trunk/leaf meshes or LODs, also set up your Proxy Stealers.
