Fog Regrow & Fading
Fog regrow and revealer fading give your Fog of War a sense of memory — explored areas can be remembered, slowly forgotten, or smoothly faded in and out as revealers move.
Important
These are temporal effects, so they require the Texture Storage fog sample mode (they rely on fog data persisting in a render texture between frames). You will also need to set World Bounds.
Fog Regrow
When Use Regrow is enabled, areas that were once explored gradually return to fog after a revealer leaves — a classic "the fog grows back" effect.
- Max Fog Regrow Amount caps how much the fog can grow back, so previously explored areas can stay partially remembered rather than returning to full darkness.
- Initial Fog Exploration Value sets how explored the world is at startup (0 = fully fogged, higher = partially pre-explored).
Revealer Fading
You can fade a revealer's contribution in and out over time instead of having it pop:
- Revealer Fade In + Revealer Fade In Speed — newly revealed areas fade in.
- Revealer Fade Out + Revealer Fade Out Speed — areas a revealer leaves fade out.
