Fog Of War Hider

Marks a GameObject to be hidden when it falls outside of every revealer's line of sight. Pair it with one or more Hider Behaviors to control what actually happens on hide/reveal. The hider registers itself with the Fog Of War World automatically.

Settings

The Fog Of War Hider's settings — Sample Points and Permanently Reveal — are documented in Configuration → Hiders.

How It Works

The Fog Of War Hider only detects visibility. When its visibility changes it raises an internal event that attached Hider Behaviors respond to. Add a behavior such as Hider Disable Objects to actually show/hide things.

A hider can be tested two ways depending on your setup:

  • By a revealer's direct line of sight (default), or
  • By sampling the fog texture when Hiders Use Fog Texture is enabled on the Fog Of War World (Texture sampling mode). See Sampling Mode.

Scripting

See the Hider API. To react to visibility changes from a revealer's perspective, use Hider Visibility Events.
